Dr. Travis Henry, Board Certified Veterinary Dentist™, the founder & patriarch of Midwest Veterinary Dental Services, transitioned to a new leadership role in the Thrive Community.
His new title is National Specialty Director of Dentistry. This role will allow him to shape the strategic direction of Veterinarian dentistry through consulting, training and enhancing the standards of dental care across the country!
Dr. Henry has been an integral part of MVDS’s veterinary team providing compassionate, high-quality care to our diverse caseload for many years. He has built strong relationships with our referring doctors, clients and the local community.
While Dr. Henry is entering a new season of his career; he will always be a cornerstone at MVDS. You will still see him during some of our open-house events and we assure you that the same high standard of dental care, and commitment to excellence, that you have grown to expect will endure.
Dr. Henry grew up in Central Michigan and graduated from Michigan State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. In 1996, he started his own practice in Neenah, Wisconsin, which included all aspects of equine and small animal medicine. Dr. Henry’s interests were dentistry, lameness, and reproduction.
After selling the practice in 2003, Dr. Henry started Midwest Veterinary Dental Services and began to focus solely on veterinary dentistry. During this time, he traveled extensively in the U.S., Europe, and Australia teaching basic and advanced dentistry to veterinarians and consulting for Veterinary Dental Products.
In 2011, Dr. Henry began a dentistry residency at University of California Davis, which he completed in 2014. In 2015 he passed the dentistry boards, achieving diplomat status with the American Veterinary Dental College. In 2016, he passed his second dentistry board exam with the American Veterinary College, Equine Specialty.
Dr. Henry and his wife, Amy, have two sons, Joshua and Noah. In his spare time, Dr. Henry enjoys antique John Deere tractors, fishing, ATVing, snowmobiling, snow skiing, and spending time with his family and dogs, (especially “Up North”).
