Dr. Karin Bilyard, DVM
Dr. Karin Bilyard grew up in the NW suburbs of Chicago. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Purdue University. She was commissioned into the United States Army Veterinary Corps in 2007 and currently serves as a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves.
Dr. Bilyard brings years of experience performing clinical and emergency care for working dogs and small animal pets. She began her small animal veterinary dental residency in 2020 and is delighted to join the MVDS team. Dr. Bilyard is the clinical consultant for veterinary oral health within the Department of Defense and is passionate about improving treatment and prevention of tooth trauma.
Dr. Bilyard is married to a Navy veteran who currently teaches high school mathematics. They have three children and a dog. The family keeps her busy with sports and scouts, but she also enjoys traveling, gardening and biking.
